Easy Chicken & Waffles Sliders

Chicken & Waffles is one of my favorite flavor combinations – it is the best combination of savory and sweet, especially with well-seasoned chicken. Plus, it’s one of those special dishes that you can eat any time of day: breakfast, lunch, snack, or dinner!

I wanted to come up with a low-prep party version that wouldn’t require making fried chicken or waffles from scratch, but would still be fun and delicious. These quick and easy Chicken & Waffles Sliders fit the bill perfectly!

Now, I have an amazing Copycat KFC recipe on my other site that is perfect if you don’t mind working for your chicken and waffles or would prefer from-scratch breaded chicken, but on this particular day, I just wanted to take it nice and easy.

Using premade chicken nuggets and mini waffles, this easy party appetizer comes together quickly — ready from start to finish in 20 minutes or less.

It’s a perfect kids’ kitchen recipe — they can help make it for a party, a playdate, or just family movie night. (I would just let the chicken nuggets cool a bit before having the kids assemble the sliders.)

We hope you love this fun twist on a Southern food favorite just as much as we do!

How to Make Mini Chicken & Waffles Bites

We love this easy appetizer recipe because it’s ready in less than 20 minutes with our simple time-saving shortcuts! And it’s always a hit with the kids (and grown-ups!)

Here’s how to make ’em:

Cook your chicken nuggets according to package directions. Remove from oven and allow to cool.

While the chicken nuggets are cooling off, toast your mini waffles according to the directions on box.

When the chicken and waffles are cool enough to handle, get the kids involved by inviting them to help create “sandwiches” of the chicken and waffles.

Serve with maple syrup for a truly salty-and-sweet flavor combination. Drizzle on top or serve on the side.

If serving as a party appetizer, use toothpicks to hold the sliders together for easier grabbing.

TIP: you can also spread maple butter or honey dijon on the mini waffles prior to assembling your sliders for a less messy dining experience.
