Rainbow Dragonfly Pretzels Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 pkg. Thin Pretzel Sticks
- 1 pkg. Mini Pretzel Twists
- 1 Wilton Candy Melts, White
- 1 pkg. Sixlets Candy
- Rope Black Licorice
Tip: Depending on what you have available or what you can find in the stores, feel free to substitute M&Ms for Sixlets or red licorice for black.
Directions
Melt while chocolate in microwave (be sure to use a microwave-safe bowl). To avoid scorching, heat in 30-second increments, stirring in between, until fully melted.
Cut the licorice into pieces about 1/4 inch long. You’ll need two pieces of licorice for each Dragonfly Pretzel treat.
Dip pretzel sticks into white chocolate, leaving about 1/2 inch uncoated (where you’re holding the pretzel). Place to dry on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or a non-stick silicon baking mat (we love these handy silicon mats because they’re reusable!)
Allow chocolate to set about halfway, then press 5 colored Sixlets candy pieces along the pretzel for the body. Add one white Sixlet candy piece for the head. Place 2 licorice pieces at the top of the pretzel behind the white head to look like antennas.
Dip your twisted pretzels into the white chocolate until completely coated. While these are wet, place 2 of these twisted pretzels into the side of each decorated pretzel stick. You want the chocolate to meld together so the wings will stay attached to the body.
Allow your Dragonfly Pretzels to fully harden, then gently pull off the parchment when ready to serve.
