Kid-friendly Ground Turkey Chilli
If you like your chilli with a good hit of heat, today’s recipe is for you! A Spicy Corn Turkey Chilli that will warm you up while filling your belly with nutritious and hearty ingredients.
Easy Turkey Chili Recipe
For today’s recipe, we set out to make a nutritious chilli recipe that delivered some serious flavor while also being good-for-you.
While this recipe is still stick-to-your ribs hearty, it’s the kind of comfort food you can feel good about indulging in. And if your kids like chili, too, it makes plenty of leftovers to be sent to school in their thermoses for a warm, filling lunch that will carry them through their day.
Okay, and before we get to the recipe it’s time for a bit of a confession…
I don’t eat this chilli with a spoon – I scoop it up with tortilla chips! Okay, I know I know – what was all that talk about healthy eating about then?
Well, I like to think that I made this recipe healthy enough that I can indulge a bit by serving it alongside a couple handfuls of chips – but you can definitely be healthier than me and serve it on rice, as part of a taco salad, or just in a big bowl sans chips.
But, if you want my recommendation for how best to enjoy this spicy turkey chilli recipe – grab the tortilla chips (or even some corn chips). You’ll thank me later.

Prep Tips
- Dice the onions, tomatoes and green onions before you start cooking so everything is ready to add without slowing you down.
- Pat the meat dry before browning to help it develop better color and flavor in the pan.
- Measure all spices in advance and keep them in a small bowl so they can be added all at once.
- Use the same saucepan for browning the meat and sautéing the onions to capture all the flavorful bits left behind (called “frond”).
- Set out your garnishes and tortilla chips ahead of time so the dish can be served immediately while hot.
