You could try looking for a natural food dye, so you could color the frosting without using Red40 (if that’s the concern)

Strawberries are not readily available (at a reasonable cost) during the Christmas season. Do you have any suggestions for a substitution? The only thing I can think of is the abhorrent red food-colored frosting pipe to shape.
