“Love my Puppy” Peanut Butter Dog Treats
Kids will love to make these adorable heart shaped peanut butter dog treats for the family pet!
This is a simple recipe with only a few basic ingredients required, so it is perfect to get kids involved in the kitchen and introduce them to baking!

Peanut Butter Dog Treats Ingredients
Yields: 1-2 dozen (depending on size of cookie cutter; recipe uses a 1 1/2 inch size)
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/3 cup natural peanut butter
- Dash of cinnamon

How to Make Homemade Dog Biscuits
Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
In a medium mixing bowl, add both flours, applesauce, peanut butter, egg and cinnamon. Mix well until combined.
Roll the dough out on a level workstation until it’s about 1/4” thick.
Using a heart shaped cookie cutter, cut out the Valentine treats from the rolled out dough. You can take the scraps that are left over and re-roll the dough again to get a few more treats, if desired.
Place the heart-shaped dough pieces on the lined cookie sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until they are just beginning to turn brown around the edges.
Transfer the treats to a wire rack and allow to cool completely.
How to store your homemade dog treats:
Store in an airtight container or sealed plastic bag in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
