Frequently Asked Questions

How Long Does Homemade Popcorn Last?

Your homemade popcorn will taste best if enjoyed right after popping. However, if you have leftovers, you can keep them for up to 2 weeks in an airtight container at room temperature. You can also use a large zip-top plastic bag and gently push as much air out as possible before sealing.

If the popcorn or apple slices feel soft or anything shows signs of mold, discard and make a new batch.

How Many Cups of Popcorn Are in a Bag?

A typical bag of microwave popcorn will have between 8-12 cups of popcorn. This will be more than enough to prepare this recipe!

Can You Use Buttered Popcorn?

We started with plain air popped popcorn and added our own butter sauce because it helps the cinnamon sugar stick to the popcorn. For that reason, I don’t recommend skipping this step, even if you use “buttered” popcorn. You’re welcome to use butter popcorn though! It will just taste extra rich and buttery.
