Prep Tips
- Storage – These spiced pretzels can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week. After that, the pretzels may become slightly soft.
- Pretzels – Use unsalted pretzels for a less salty flavor to the overall dish.
- Spices – Use pumpkin pie spice or just plain ground cinnamon if you don’t have apple pie spice on hand.
- Variations – Try adding fun mix-ins, like dried apple slices, mini marshmallows or buttered popcorn to turn this pretzel recipe into a snack mix.
- Why do I need to bake this recipe? Baking the pretzels allows the apple spice and sugar mixture to crystalize and stick to the pretzels. Otherwise, the apple pie-sugar coating will come off on your hands and be a bit messy.
