Easter M&M Cookies
What’s inside: a fun hack for making Easter Bunny Sugar Cookies using M&Ms, these Easter M&M Cookies are a cute Easter dessert to make with kids when you’re pressed for time but still want to let them make something they will be proud of!
Easter Bunny Cookie Recipe
While I am no stranger to ambitious kitchen projects and enjoy whipping up elaborate desserts for the holidays, I’m also a huge fan of quick and easy recipes that come in handy when you’re pressed for time or your plan A didn’t work out.
These Easter Bunny Cookies can be made using your favorite from-scratch sugar cookie dough or simple pre-made sugar cookie dough – whichever you prefer.
Kids can help with this recipe, though you’ll want to wait until the cookies are just warm to the touch and not hot from the oven – maybe do the majority on your own and leave a few for them to help with at the end, to ensure that you don’t run out of time affixing the M&Ms to the warm cookies.
If (despite your best efforts) the cookies cool before you get all the M&Ms in place, you can use some melted chocolate or frosting to secure them.
I hope your kids love these super simple Easter cookies as much as mine did!

- Prepare and bake the sugar cookie dough according to the package directions.
- While cookies are still warm from the oven, press M&Ms onto each cookie to form a bunny shape (one flat M&M as the face, two M&Ms on their sides at the top forming the ears).
- Let cookies cool completely so the M&Ms set in place before packaging or serving.

Prep Tips
- Work fast after baking. The cookies need to be hot so the M&Ms adhere properly; once they cool, they won’t stick without melting.
- Have your M&Ms sorted and ready. Lay them out by color and bunny shape before the cookies go in the oven so you’re not scrambling to find matching colors.
- Don’t press too hard. Gently nestle the M&Ms into the surface. Pressing too firmly can crack the cookie or cause spreading.
- Storage tip. Store cookies in a single layer or with parchment between layers so the candy decorations don’t pop off.
