Crunchy Roasted Chickpeas Snack Recipe

Chickpeas are full of fiber which is ideal for anyone looking to boost their digestive system. On top of that, they’re a great source of plant based protein- something many kids don’t get enough of.

Due to the protein and the fiber content chickpeas are a very filling snack- so you don’t need a lot of them. These salted ones are simple but addictive. They work nicely when you’re out of the house for the day or as a healthy, movie night snack.

How to Make this Roasted Chickpeas Snack:

If you’re using dried chickpeas, soak them overnight, cook and cool.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

In a large bowl drizzle olive oil over the chickpeas and toss until coated.

Sprinkle the sea salt and paprika over the chickpeas and toss again.

Line a large baking sheet with tinfoil and spread the chickpeas into one layer.

Pro tip: We love these reusable silicone baking mats because they’re non-stick and you can use them over and over for all your baking projects!

Cook for fifteen minutes. Remove from oven and stir.

Cook for another seventeen minutes and stir once more. Your chickpeas should be looking golden brown.

Place them back in the oven and cook for 5-8 more minutes keeping a close eye on them. You want them to get a bit crunchy but not burnt.

Remove from oven and let sit on the pan for fifteen minutes to cool.

  • 3 cups cooked chickpeas (or 1.5 cups dry)
  • 5 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1.5 teaspoons sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
