OREO Gingerbread Men Cookies
Okay, so chocolate-covered OREOs are my go-to holiday staple — and for good reason! There are so many ways to customize them, like with our OREO Gingerbread Man (or Woman) Cookies!
My kids are hit or miss when it comes to gingerbread – some of them love it and some only enjoy the decorating but can’t stand the strong flavor. Not to mention, gingerbread cookie dough (if you’re making it from scratch) is one of the most time-consuming cookie doughs I’ve ever made.
These chocolate-covered OREOs are perfect for both, letting us keep up the tradition of decorating gingerbread cookies while also ensuring that all of the kids will enjoy the fruits of their labor!
Now, you can actually buy gingerbread-flavored candy melts to make this treat, but we stuck with plain chocolate candy melts.
These would make a super cute activity for a Christmas party or a kid-made Christmas gift!

Ingredients to Make OREO Gingerbread Men
- 2 cups chocolate or gingerbread candy melts or chocolate chips

Tip: You can use store-bought chocolate-covered OREOs for an easier clean up with the kids.
Kitchen Tools You May Find Helpful:
- Chocolate cookie mold
- Microwave safe bowls

- Piping bag and tip if not using tubed frosting
Tip: If you don’t have a OREO chocolate mold, you can use the bowl-dipping method shown in our OREO Snowmen tutorial.

How to Make OREO Gingerbread Men
Place a Tablespoon of melted chocolate in the bottom of each chocolate cookie mold, and then press an OREO into the chocolate.

Pour an additional Tablespoon of chocolate over the OREOs, to cover completely without adding too much for the mold to hold.
Place the mold in the fridge to set, approximately 30 minutes to an hour.
When the OREOs are completely set, pop them out of the mold.

Warm up the candy melt pens by placing them in a warm glass of water and start assembling your candies to figure out how you will decorate your gingerbread men and women.
Use the warmed candy pens to draw designs onto the chocolate-covered OREOs, and then use them to attach the pre-designed candy faces and accessories.

Let the candy melts dry completely before packaging or serving.
