Creamsicle Soda Recipe
Have you heard of dirty sodas? It’s a fun concept popularized by Swig restaurants where you start with a base of flavored soda and add various flavored syrups, fresh fruit, and other mix-ins, creating unique drink combinations.
The term “dirty” in Dirty Sodas refers to the addition of flavored syrups or mix-ins, which give the drinks an extra layer of flavor and sweetness. Some popular flavor combinations include coconut-lime, raspberry-vanilla, and watermelon-strawberry.
One of our favorite ways to make dirty sodas at home is to add a bit of flavored coffee creamer. For this recipe, the simple addition of vanilla coffee creamer to orange soda makes the perfect Creamsicle-flavored drink.
Of course, you can use plain coffee cream and vanilla syrup (like they do at Swig) – whichever you prefer.

Creamsicle Soda FAQ
Can I make a Dirty Creamsicle Soda in advance?
Personally, I wouldn’t make these drinks in advance as the pretty ombre layers really add to the presentation and if left to sit, the layers might not look as nice. But the good news is that this drink takes just a minute to make so there’s not really a need to make ahead!
Some other fun dirty soda combinations that can be made with orange soda include:
- Peachy Orange Delight: Mix orange soda with peach syrup and a splash of fresh lime juice for a refreshing and fruity twist.
- Orange Creamsicle Dream: Combine orange soda with a splash of coconut syrup and a dollop of whipped cream for a creamy, tropical treat reminiscent of a classic creamsicle. (You can alternatively use coconut coffee creamer if you have it available where you live.)
- Raspberry Orange Fusion: Blend orange soda with raspberry syrup and a squeeze of lemon juice for a tangy and vibrant flavor combination.
- Mango Tango Sparkler: Mix orange soda with mango syrup and a splash of pineapple juice for a tropical and exotic twist on the classic dirty soda.
- Tropical Citrus Splash: Combine orange soda with passion fruit syrup and a splash of grenadine for a sweet and tangy concoction that will transport you to a tropical paradise.
