It’s during those moments that I’m thankful for cake mix cookies! We’ve made so many different versions throughout the years and not only are they super easy to make but they are also incredibly tasty, making them the perfect last-minute treat to whip up with the kids.
These 4-ingredient chocolate chip cake mix cookies are soft and chewy with a lightly crunchy exterior, a hint of vanilla flavor from the cake mix and studded with gooey pockets of melted chocolate chips that just melt in your mouth with every bite.
While they aren’t as indulgent as a from-scratch chocolate chip cookie, they definitely do the trick when you’re crunched for time.

Tips for Baking With Kids:
Making these Chocolate Chip Cake Mix Cookies with your kids isn’t just about creating delicious treats – it’s about creating memories that will last a lifetime. Here are a few tips to make the experience even more enjoyable for both you and your little ones:
- Get them involved from start to finish: Let your kids help measure and pour the ingredients into the mixing bowl. It’s a great way to teach them about measuring and following a recipe, plus they’ll love getting their hands dirty in the kitchen!
- Let them mix it up: Once all the ingredients are in the bowl, let your kids take turns stirring the batter. It’s a fun and hands-on activity that helps develop their motor skills and coordination.
- Bake together: As the cookies bake in the oven, take this time to bond with your kids. Talk about their day, play a quick game, or simply enjoy each other’s company while the delicious aroma of freshly baked cookies fills the air.
