Prep Tips

  • How to store chocolate-covered OREOs: Once the chocolate has set/hardened, store your Oreos in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Avoid refrigerating them, as it will cause the chocolate to sweat.
  • Try new flavors: You can add a flavor oil or extract (nothing containing water as that will cause the chocolate to break) or use a flavored OREO for a different flavor profile. Vanilla extract, raspberry flavor oil or Halloween-themed OREOs would be my top suggestions!
  • Less mess: While we often use a fork for making chocolate-covered OREOs, it is slightly easier to use actual chocolate-dipping tools (and definitely a little less messy).
  • Variations: You can use black candy melts to make Jack’s facial features, but I think the chocolate turned out great and was arguably better tasting!

I hope your family loves these easy Jack Skellington chocolate-covered OREOs as much as mine did!
