Cake Mix Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies

Cake mix cookies are probably my favorite kind of cookie to bake because they are SO easy! All you need is a box of cake mix, eggs, oil, and powdered sugar! You really can’t mess these up, which is why they are perfect for beginning bakers or baking with kids.

Another cool thing about cake mix cookies is that you can switch up the flavors by simply using different flavors of cake mix. Red velvet cake mix is a rich ruby hue and a deep chocolate-y flavor. They’re perfect for Valentine’s Day or Christmas (or any time!)

The best part? You can make a batch start-to-finish in under 30 minutes!

Prep Tips

  • Yield – This recipe will make about 16-20 cookies, depending on the size of your scoops.
  • Storage – Keep cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-5 days. Placing a paper towel in the bottom of the container will help absorb any excess moisture and keep the cookies fresher longer. You can also freeze the cookies in a large freezer bag for up to 2 months.
  • Dough – If the dough becomes too sticky to handle, chill the dough for 15-20 minutes to make it easier to work with. Coating hands with oil or dipping them in a bowl of water can also help prevent the dough from sticking to hands.
