Copycat Swig “Dirty Shirley”
We live nowhere close to a Swig, the popular restaurant chain that has blown up all over social media thanks to it’s unique and customizable drinks, particularly its signature “Dirty Sodas.” So, the only way for us to taste what all the fuss is about is to make it ourselves!
A Dirty Soda at Swig typically starts with a base of flavored soda (often lemon-lime or lime), to which customers can add various flavored syrups, fresh fruit, and other mix-ins, creating a personalized and refreshing beverage experience.
The term “dirty” in Dirty Sodas refers to the addition of flavored syrups or mix-ins, which give the drinks an extra layer of flavor and sweetness. Some popular flavor combinations include coconut-lime, raspberry-vanilla, and watermelon-strawberry, among others.
Today, we’re going with their fun twist on a classic Shirley Temple. In this version, vanilla-flavored coffee creamer is added to bring a creamy texture and create a irresistible vanilla-lemon-cherry flavor combination.
It reminds me of a melted Coke float, only instead of coke it’s a Shirley Temple. It’s absolutely delicious and indulgent – perfect for a party or a family movie night.
(The color combination also makes it perfect for Valentine’s Day or Christmas.)

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make a Dirty Shirley Temple drink in advance?
Personally, I wouldn’t make these drinks in advance as the pretty ombre layers really add to the presentation, and I’m not sure if the soda and the cream would eventually react and take on an unpleasant texture.
Some other fun dirty soda combinations that can be made with Sprite include:
- Coconut-Lime: Start with a base of lemon-lime soda and add coconut syrup for a tropical twist. Garnish with a wedge of lime for an extra burst of citrus flavor.
- Raspberry-Vanilla: Combine raspberry syrup with vanilla syrup in a lemon-lime soda base. The tartness of the raspberry complements the sweet and creamy vanilla for a delightful flavor combination.
- Watermelon-Strawberry: Mix watermelon syrup with strawberry syrup in a lemon-lime soda base. This fruity combination is refreshing and perfect for hot summer days.
- Peach-Mango: Blend peach syrup with mango syrup in a lemon-lime soda base. The sweet and juicy flavors of peach and mango pair perfectly with the tangy soda for a tropical treat.
- Blue Raspberry-Coconut: Combine blue raspberry syrup with coconut syrup in a lemon-lime soda base. The vibrant blue color and sweet-tart flavor of blue raspberry, along with the creamy coconut, create a fun and delicious beverage.
